About Me

I am currently a Stay at Home mom to a 3 year old and 1 year old, but I still call myself a teacher! I taught Elementary School for 3 years, and was a Parent Involvement Facilitator for 1 year. While I was teaching I took a year long class on integrating the Arts into our curriculum. It was the introductory class for getting an Arts Endorsement. It was the most fun I have ever had in a professional development/post graduate class, and I hope to someday continue the Arts Endorsement classes, and actually get my Arts Endorsement. The reason I didn't is because I got married, and moved away for my husband's graduate school. I then decided to get my M.ED since I could do that more easily in the location I was living. While taking the class we had to do many different ideas and activities with our students that integrated the Arts into what we were teaching. It was so fun, and my students loved all the activities we did. It helped them to learn and comprehend more easily.

Besides being a teacher, I love to sing, dance, and play. I grew up performing in talent shows, plays/musicals, and other miscellaneous events. I had a scholarship for voice in college, I have taken various dance classes, and I have played the piano ever since I was 5 years old. I also directed the school choir. As you can tell, I love the ARTS!! I am not very good at drawing or painting, but know that it is another wonderful way to use the ARTS in our classrooms or at home to help children understand a story.

I also love stories and love reading.  Someday I hope to write my own book, but I guess my own reading and ARTS blog will have to do for now!!

One of my jobs as a SAHM is to find ways to save money and get cash back. Almost every week with a little bit of planning I save at least 30% at the grocery store.

The most important thing in my life is being a mom, so most of my time is devoted to motherhood and the many fun adventures that come with it!
